We know we outdid ourselves when Better Homes & Gardens comes knocking for a six-page spread in the special interest publication Before & After Kitchens and Baths. They describe our recent kitchen remodel as “modern glam” with a reworked floor plan resulting in “high style and better flow without having to remove walls.”
As the article continues, “Many remodeling projects take as truth that more is better. But a thoughtful design solution that doesn’t upend every square inch can yield enviable results. Take this original kitchen: it functioned just fine, but it was closed-off, dark, and lacked extra elbowroom for storage. The couple initially thought about making significant structural updates, but Nancy Madynski at Jeff King & Company and Sarah Reeves at Sazen Design instead focused on minimal moves that complemented and preserved the original architectural elements and proportions, making the space feel twice as big without moving walls.”
