Completely unrecognizable from the original turn-of-the-century “earthquake cottage” that she once was, Jones Haydu designed a cedar slat home that is a dynamically built work of art. A few of our favorite features: the creative framing that takes in the expansive city views; the diagonal, knife-like edges on the gable and the cantilevered box below; the mimicked detailing of the main gable on the garage façade; the flush garage door; and the exterior, which is clad in four different materials—concrete, western red cedar, standing seam metal, and cementitious panels. In a city full of beautiful homes, this one shines bright.
